Congratulations to Tri Club Juniors Rainer Pye, Cameron Avery, Ella Harris and Lorna Pairman, who have qualified to represent Canterbury in the Primary Sports Canterbury Inter-Regional Cross Country team which will be competing against other regions in Hanmer late-September.
It is a particularly competitive selection process, which starts at primary and intermediate school level and progresses through a series of ‘zone’ races before culminating in the final race which took place at Roto Kohatu Reserve on Wednesday 30 June. Our juniors had to achieve a top ten result in their final race to make the Canterbury team, and the final race results were:
Year 6 Girls
- 1st – Lorna Pairman (Cashmere Primary School)
Year 7 Girls
- 3rd – Ella Harris (Cashmere Primary School)
Year 8 Boys
- 3rd – Rainer Pye (Christchurch South Intermediate)
- 7th – Cameron Avery (Christchurch South Intermediate)
An awesome achievement – well done to them all, and it was neat to see some high fiving and “Tri Kids rock” sentiments being expressed between them at Roto Kohatu!
